Pretty thrilled to announce that my book will be published on January 15! It's called David Bowie and the Search for Life, Death and God. It’s published by @bloomsburybooksuk.bsky.social and tells the story of Bowie's spiritual explorations - and why they were fundamental to his work
Found David Bowie's bookplate among his various notes etc and it's pretty fine

Blimey, just had my first review, and it's in Publishers Weekly, which is about as respected as it gets, and it is fair to say I'm pleased with it

I get to write about shows in Aylesbury every week. It still punches above its weight, and the Friars name lives on (obviously v significant to Bowie too). These places deserve our support
a good night to see a show in Aylesbury (Friars Club flyer, 30 June 1979)

Back in 1981 this extraordinary track was like nothing we’d ever heard before - a whole decade ahead of its time. All these years later, it’s still a total banger. Marc Almond and Cindy Ecstasy on vocals. The mighty Dave Ball on everything else.

Hot DAM! etc

Another cracking interview, this time with the architect of the funk and force that powered Bowie's music from 1975 to 1980. Rare blend of technical brilliance, musical humility and knowing exactly how good he is. Almost as good to hear him talk as it is to hear him play
💥 OUT NOW! As Carlos Alomar reunites with George Murray for the DAM Trilogy tour this Fall, we meet to talk Bowie, soul, the pocket, the groove and just how Carlos, Dennis and George fuelled Bowie's musical evolutions between '75 - '80. Dig in and dig! 💥

Just starting to breathe again after an intense Macbeth at
@the-rsc.bsky.social's The Other Place, transformed into a Glasgow pub. Properly horrific, properly supernatural, properly human. Here's my review

Little thing I spotted in Bowie's notes. Seems like the Thin White Duke liked the Fat White Family

'Charming' and 'delightful' aren't words routinely associated with Tin Machine but they very much apply to this, part II of a tremendous interview with producer Tim Palmer

This is interesting—I see a lot of these tells in my work with writing scams, where the use of chatbots in scam solicitations and impersonations has become ubiquitous.

We all know the Grammys are a farce but this would have been a hilarious letter to send to Bowie at any point in the past 50 years, let alone after he'd died

I was lucky enough today to be among the first people to use the Study Room at the V&A's David Bowie Centre. It's the place where you can examine paper records - his notes, handwritten lyrics, jotted-down ideas, those kinds of things. If you're interested in that stuff, you'll love it there

One of the weird things Bowie does to you: you end up reading stuff you never otherwise would. He's been dead for ages and he's still doing it. I hadn't even heard of this book until last week

New Suede album is superb. A masterclass in how to age as a band. They know exactly what they're doing and what they're about, but there's no sense of retreat or retread. Immense conviction and immense choruses. You can almost feel Brett's breath. Loud, intense, stirring, surprisingly moving
