So basically, we're all trying to revive 2009 Twitter, and we have about ten years of good times here before a tech toddler buys it and tries to colonise Jupiter?

A director pal has been working for decades with big name clients. Doing huge stuff, including international shoots. If you live in the UK, you will have seen their stuff.

They are currently retraining as a Pilates instructor. To have a more regular income in winter.

That's how bad it is.

To mark Rodrigo Duterte's arrest at the behest of the International Criminal Court, here's my @aljazeera.com film about a mortician at the receiving end of the bodies of many of his victims. Orly ran a 24hr mortuary in Manila's Caloocan district. youtu.be/h86aFdIs1ZM?...

If you want to see what's going to happen in America, you should really look at what has happened in the Philippines. It's the forerunner, the test bed, for the collapse of democracy.

From my very limited experience of academia, it appears every j-school in the UK is offering a kind of half-price offer for courses bec numbers are down. Higher education is cost prohibitive. At the other end, parents can't afford early years childcare. It's almost as if education should be free.

If Trump's tariff on Chinese imports actually happens tomorrow, the price of all the cheap shit Americans (especially poor shoppers) purchase will go up. And it won't just be 10%. A quick explainer on the de minimis loophole that might close tomorrow:

Europeans should realise how serious an attack on the Canadian economy the Trump admininstration's 25% tariffs represent - and that we are next.

The last 10 EU countries that have not yet fully ratified CETA (the EU-Canada trade agreement) should do so rapidly to help our Canadian friends.

Love seeing presenters on @gbnewsonline.bsky.social who were bootlicking the Trump administration last week falling very, very silent about it all once his goons outed themselves as Nazis. Esp the one whose grand aunt was a known anti-semite.

Sam Altman is washed - the Mark Sanchez of Silicon Valley. His butt fumble moment was releasing the "Operator" agent that doesn't work at all 5 days before DeepSeek blew up.

Much like Sanchez, Altman has outstayed his welcome, and will be seen as a historic bust.

Yes, Silicon Valley is the Jets.

@vimeo.com Question re your "one time" educational discount. Your AI is insisting that I can't apply it to my existing account, one that I've had for 15+ years. Yet I know other lecturers who have managed to apply it to theirs. I have opened a ticket, but also hoped you'd have answers here. Thx.

As @zeyiyang.bsky.social reports, Chinese Xiaohongshu users are engaging in a kind of cultural engage with their new English-speaking counterparts. You have to imagine this is exactly the opposite of what lawmakers wanted when they tried to ban TikTok lol
