We have spent 13 years trying to figure out how to resurface 800 metres of John Street, and the obvious answer (it should be pedestrianized) isn't even on the table.

A construction timeline has yet to be announced.

Has anybody else noticed a precipitous decline in bike parking recently, especially along major routes that have been recently rebuilt (even when the rebuild installed bike lanes)?

I know more people are riding, but it also feels like there are just many fewer places to park.

A marker of many great cities is that their residents are all assholes. Toronto is really growing into its own on this, but whereas it's essential in places like New York and London, in Toronto it's insufferable because it's not undergirded by an equally intense pride in the city

Parkside chopped again & yesterday I went to see the Dufferin camera chopped. The tolerated lawlessness of drivers coupled w their campaigns to prevent bus lanes etc - time to stop consulting & make real changes. Feckless police are useless.

"Would you say that automated speed enforcement saves lives?" Councillor Gord Perks ask Transportation GM Barbara Gray.

"Absolutely," says Gray. She points to studies from Sick Kids Hospital that make that conclusion.
