This was always my favorite scene in Heated Rivalry it sums up Ilya’s dilemmas so poetically He’s acutely aware of his feelings but he can never admit it because it’s not just his career on the line it’s family it’s country it’s everything. I think the show version is even better with added context

I love how faithful Heated Rivalry is to the book but I also adore the changes they made. I love how the added context for Ilya and his brother/family/country, I love the show version of Svetlana so much more (and her relationship with Ilya is so sweet!) and that last kiss was so much more cathartic

Just finished ep 5 of Heated Rivalry. Not even kidding one of the best hours of television I’ve ever watched. Like what the fuck it’s perfection from beginning to end it’s sweet and heartbreaking and heartwarming and intense and I am just floored by how perfect it was
