Got this email today from an academic resource website, and I don’t think I’ve ever been so flattered… From what I know of Scrooge McDuck, I think he will find it an interesting read…

Because love is the best thing we do.”

“I'd rather chase your shadow all my life
Than be afraid of my own
I'd rather be with you

I'd rather not know
Where I'll be
than be alone
and convinced that I know.”

Robert Redford has always been my favorite go to GIF. His expressions always said so much. So on the news of his passing, here’s to you. RIP.

I thought we all could use some ancient wisdom for these days:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

Here lies the problem…
So if a group of men -- all of them wearing masks, with no uniforms or badges visible, driving unmarked cars -- approach anyone on the streets of DC, they're just supposed to submit?

My area is sociology, and my study area has been churches, so this may not be on target… but, You might try Leah Payne (historian, covers some televangelist roots of contemporary Christian music.) other evangelical researchers: Gerardo Marti, Kate Bowler, James Penning & Corwin Smidt.
Academic mutuals!
I'm looking for some historians of televangelism/right-wing evangelical christianity for *special reasons* - if you know anybody that fits the bill, I'd love to get pointed in their direction!

If YA dystopian fiction has taught me anything, it's that we need to start looking around for a clumsy-yet-somehow-graceful super-unique white girl with a propensity for love triangles. She's gotta be here somewhere.
The idea of upgrading humans holds plenty of promise. Realising it will mean driving out the cranks and bringing the technology into the mainstream econ.st/4iibACB

If you’re feeling stressed, chances are those you care about are as well. If you have the bandwidth, reach out to them, check in with them, see how they’re doing. Even the most difficult times are bearable when we know we are not alone.

Not with a bang but a whimper.”
