Christmas should feel magical for all children.

And every child deserves to experience the joy of stories.

Will you help to share the #MagicOfBooks with the children who need it most? ✨

700 extra police in Brum tonight for the Villa v Maccabi match. Biggest local news so far, a policeman is up the spire of Aston Church. Whether this is for surveillance or spiritual reasons is currently unclear. Anyway, it's a nice spire.

Word to the wise if you are having the new Covid booster. Side effects take a good 24 hours to kick in so it’s the night after and beyond you need to not have any plans! I’m currently in bed shivering gently and trying to work out what aches most! 😬

An absolute whale of a time tonight at the Grand for James Partridge and his Big Christmas Assembly. Primary school bangers, carols and Christmas songs. A jolly, warm-hearted, raucous singalong. Balm for the soul in this wicked world. Heartily recommend.

Whatever else comes out once the attack on the ECML train last night, this alone is a credit to the train crew, driver, and signalling team.

Huntingdon was the first possible stop. In a highly stressful situation and improvising a plan the train lost just 3 minutes vs line speed to get there.

Hope everyone's swapped their Halloween costumes for their All Saints Day costumes today. It's so difficult dressing up as *all* the saints, so this year I'm just doing St Catherine, in case anyone is wondering why I have a giant wheel with me.

Yesterday I lost my old faithful hot water bottle after many years service. New one arrived today and is called, apparently, Cassandra. She says she’s guaranteed for 5 years but I don’t know whether to believe her…

About bloody time. As someone with an astigmatism it’s even worse. Like a starburst in your vision both head on and in mirrors. Puts me off driving after dark which is very limiting in a northern winter.
