I'm watching The summer I turned pretty and when Belly goes to Paris in S3 to get the fuck out after her life blew up, it brought back so many memories of moving to Madrid.
I miss living in Spain (Vigo tho, not Madrid) so much.

I was thinking about asking for an electric wok for Christmas but now I'm definitely going to get some prints from my favorite living artist: Anastasia Trusova.
Eventually, if we can ever afford it, I'd love an original piece. But prints will do, I'm sick of looking at my own art.

I miss Twitter. I miss a time when I could engage meaningfully in politics without substantial damage to my mental health.
I know my husband misses it, since that's how we met and what brought us together.

I've been complaining to Scott for years about we didn't have a place for me to sit and read outside. We've been working on this area for awhile. Scott built the gate with the trellis and I insisted on all of the lights (they're solar).

I learned how to make bagels. They even impressed my husband and his family which is a feat given they are New Jersey bagel people.
Anyway, today was my 4th time making them. My father-in-law already loved me but I think now he likes me more than either of his own sons.

Luckily, Scott and I have been stocked up for months now in preparation (the world sucks and we're on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean) so we have plenty of food to last us a while and share if necessary. And we just had our water delivery yesterday.
30 minutes out - we're upcountry so we're not in an evacuation zone but if the harbor gets fucked, we'll be cut off for awhile
