Day 100 of #100DaysofHorror: Shadow of the Vampire (2000). Willem Dafoe is the actual vampire who plays Count Orlak in the original Nosferatu. The director is upset that his crew keeps being eaten; how is he supposed to make a movie under these circumstances???

Day 99 of #100DaysofHorror: Martha Marcy May Marlene (2008). This is definitely not traditional horror, but I'm finding it very unsettling.

Also realized I missed posting a day last week and my count has been off. 😭

Day 97 of #100DaysofHorror: Birthrite (2025). Hannah let Steven pick from the remaining movies on their to-watch list, and this was the result.

A pregnant woman and her wife move to a community full of child-stealing witches.

We used to have proper movies

Day 96 of #100DaysofHorror: The Man in My Basement (2025). A Black man agrees to rent his basement to a very creepy Willem Dafoe. I haven't been able to put my finger on a more detailed plot, but the atmosphere is great so far.

regular reminder that when i say something is my *favorite* that is distinct from saying it is *the best*.

Day 95 of #100DaysofHorror: Fright Night (2011). The original is good, but this is my favorite.

Well that was silly but delightful. Imagine a long episode of Goosebumps with better production values. 7/10
Day 94 of #100DaysofHorror: Brainscan (1994). Edward Furlong is a troubled teenager who discovers he's killing people via a video game. It is, as Steven noted, not dissimilar to "that series you like by the Mormon," ie, Ender's Game.

Day 93 of #100DaysofHorror: If I Had Legs I’d Kick You (2025). GUYS. I am so glad I was traveling to a city where this was showing, because it didn't get a wide release but it is so, so good. Rose Byrne is a mother with an absent husband, a medically complex child, and a home with water damage.

Day 92 of #100DaysofHorror: I Spit on Your Grave (2010). This was a very faithful remake and made good use of evolving technology (I was very impressed with the use of a home video camera). The ending definitely doesn't pack the same punch as the Valkyrie in the motor boat in the original.

Day 91 of #100DaysofHorror: Brute 1976 (2025). The review I read of this wasn't particularly glowing, but 🤷🏼‍♀️. It's a sort of TCM knockoff, to the point that the characters have already referenced that movie by name.

As an aside, I'm very grateful to be down to the last 10 days. I'm tired of movies.

Day 90 of #100DaysofHorror: Flight 666 (2018). I fly tomorrow, so tonight I'm watching a plane disaster movie as a way to cope with my flying anxiety. It's very reassuring to hit some turbulence and think "no matter what happens, the plane isn't possessed by a demon lady"

Day 89 of #100DaysofHorror: To Die For (1995). Amazing trash starring Nicole Kidman and Joaquin Phoenix. I can't believe I'd never seen this before.

Day 88 of #100DaysofHorror: No Tears in Hell (2025). Based on a Russian serial killer and his accomplice mother.

Day 87 of #100DaysofHorror: Cry Wolf (2005). I'm a sucker for 2000s blue-tinged horror.

Day 86 of #100DaysofHorror: Trigger Happy (2025). A husband decides to kill his wife for the insurance money. Somewhat shocking just how unlikeable everyone in this is.
October 18, 2025 at 10:54 PM
Day 85 of #100DaysofHorror: Black Phone 2 (2025). In which Ethan Hawke is not dead, somehow.

Great block list here. Don't engage, just block.
Don't engage. Just block. They want to push their rage bait on here. Don't give them the satisfaction.

Day 84 of #100DaysofHorror: The Rule of Jenny Pen (2025). Geoffrey Rush is judge who has a stroke and is now living in a nursing home. One of the other residents is John Lithgow, who has a deeply creepy puppet. Also maybe the cat is evil?

Some idiots think they're going to type a prompt into an AI, publish a "novel," and make Stephen King money, but it's never gonna happen because AI will never be able to do what Stephen King did (an incredible amount of cocaine)
