What does it mean to swear an oath to the constitution when your party intends to rewrite the constitution ?

The problem with change in religion is exactly the same problem with change in the American constitution. Even when reform is pushed, it is argued that it better represents the original vision. And that’s not really progress at all. Originalism is the greatest sin of the 21st century so far.

The tech stack used to train and run LLMs can be used for some other purposes. The problem with AI is not the tech; it’s the lack of imagination in the AI community, for one thing.

Politics is not fan culture—none of these people are your friends. There are no permanent friends and no permanent enemies, only permanent interests.

We can be grateful that MTG is against Trump without liking her or thinking of her as a long-term ally. The anti-Trump coalition must be huge.

People trust their gut. People trust their instincts. People trust their emotional reactions.
In 2026 we must not do that anymore. Our intuition is now tampered with every minute of the day.

We still believe computers are logical and rational and humans are emotional and intuitive.
LLMs break that mold. We can now synthesize intuitive-sounding content that drives real human emotions and produces irrational human behavior. Not only that but people trust this content.

The men behind Trump are not white supremacists, religious fundamentalists, or capitalistic imperialists. They are post-humanists. They look forward to a dead planet, and all the people who helped them achieve their goal will be killed as well.

If you asked an AI to examine how to take over the USA the response would be what Trump paraphrased as “Get me the votes.” If all you need is enough votes, it’s easy enough to achieve if you don’t believe “free will” or “human agency” are difficult things to influence.

Americans have been taught about democracy through lore, advertising, and political speech. Very little about civics is taught in schools. Americans believe it’s a wish-fulfillment system: If enough people vote for something, ANYTHING, it will be done, and we must respect the wishes of the winners.
December 26, 2025 at 4:22 PM
If a Democrat wins the presidency, he (it won’t be a woman) will tell us democracy works, the Constitution works, and the conscience of the voters has triumphed. It is all wrong; American democracy is sick. If everything an Obama does can be negated by a Trump, American democracy is dying.

Putin did influence the Brexit referendum.

That's a fact.

The question remains, to what degree were those efforts effective?

Given the tiny margin...Putin's interference could easily have made the difference.

A healthy political system lets the best ideas rise to the top, and the final decisions should be difficult, based on an educated understanding of what's most needed.
We don't have that at all. We have races that are all about brand identity, and affinity to cultural identity.
