The issue really comes down to one’s view on the oil and gas industry.
Trevor must be so tired having to explain this to Alberta's dullards over and over and over again.

Kind of blew up Harper’s equalization changes in favour of Alberta as well, and that’s been an issue for the people who advocated for the change ever since.
That was before the Saudis crashed the market in response to US shale (and oil sands) growth. It destroyed the widely-held belief that oil prices would stay above $80 per barrel in perpetuity.

It destroyed the economic models that massive oil sands growth depended on.

I got heat when I published an oped about how bad RFK would be because I pointed out that the last time he advised on vaccine policy, American Samoa ran out of child-sized coffins.

How do you not know how actuarially sound pensions work? This is great news, and not driven by politicians at all.

And yet they still want Russian pipelines to stay open.
For reference, Canada produces just 1% of our electricity from solar.

#cdnpoli #RenewableEnergy #ClimateCrisis
Those tree hugging hippies in Hungary now lead the world in the share of electricity generated from solar with almost 25% of their electricity coming from solar in 2024.

A remarkable leap from just 7% five years ago.

www.nationalobserver.com/2025/12/10/n... < 21c as a minimum is really high. Why set the minimum at sweltering? Is the max summer temperature as chilly?
Toronto renters to be guaranteed livable units in extreme heat
Mayor Olivia Chow has requested the drafting of a new bylaw that would require landlords to keep rental units cool in the city's increasingly hot summers, just as heat is required in the winter.

Jason Kenney ultimately got toppled by his own party's base because he took some tepid steps, belatedly, on COVID-19.

Based on the crowd reaction at the UCP convention this weekend, Danielle Smith might get turfed because she tried to co-operate, however reluctantly, with Ottawa.

Mark Carney managed to trade a pipeline that will never get built for meaningful progress on industrial carbon pricing and electricity interties — both of which will get more wind and solar built.

Remember when people thought he wasn't good at politics? www.nationalobserver.com/2025/11/27/o...

Better than the leaking cylinder. Absolutely no degradation on our 2019 so far. A steal foe a used car if I was looking to sell
A bit like an i-phone, no need to replace the battery because you upgrade to the latest model.
Good luck on the resale value of your secondhand EV with a degraded battery.

Also, this sort of blows a hole in the Government of Alberta's argument about badly needing more oil export capacity. I mean, sure they could want more, but c'mon now.
Looks like Alberta’s energy minister concedes that Alberta prospers within Canada like never before.

Are things perfect? No. There is room for improvement and there are ways to solve our domestic differences. But without any doubt, we are #ForeverCanadian

This pipeline will not happen. If the proponents want to continue digging, they really need to build a refinery. Again.
Especially ironic to be talking about the risk posted by landslide-triggered tsunamis to coastal traffic, including tankers, on #WorldTsunamiAwarenessDay
Some comments from me on the geohazards that could impact an oil pipeline from AB to BC coast, following @davidebybc.bsky.social and First Nations' continued opposition. More thoughts in the below thread from ~6 months ago 🧪⚒️ @ctvnewscalgary.bsky.social www.ctvnews.ca/calgary/arti...

Except the ‘too big’ and ‘wrong side drive’ and ‘built in North America’ niggles, this is still a straight up dumbass idea.
They would love them if they're were EV and not associated with Trump. Ford had a real nice EV going, until Trump hacked them to shreds cutting EV tax credits and oppressive tariffs. Japan doesn't trust Trump for shit and Japan has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to corruption. S. Korea too

On April 30th, the Blue Jays were 13-16. And I posted this gentle encouragement to the fellas, who were trailing 6-0 to the Boston Red Sox.

They came back, walked them off on a Kirky single, and went 81-52 the rest of the way.

You gotta believe.

Lefty on the mound. That makes the difference.
What this tells me is that Springer and/or the Jays do not want him playing the outfield in the World Series. Fair enough.
Bo Bichette will play second base for the first time in his MLB career tonight in Game 1 of the World Series.

He'll bat cleanup for Blue Jays.
