I'm currently dog sitting for my not-quite-in-laws, and it turns out Winston the Schnauzer is quite a different dog to sit compared to Fig the Greyhound.

I wasn't quite convinced of this soldier guys' voice, as I thought it was too flat for EDF, but he's won me over.

I made a first attempt at this that was *rough* and too high poly, so here's my second go, trying to make a more classic aussie burger.

An interesting cowinkydink: Chapter 680 of Naruto features this line about your body just moving on its own (to protect people). This released at the end of June 2014.

The following week saw the first chapter of My Hero Acadamia which features the same action, and says it's the essence of heroism.

I just finished episode 393 of Naruto Shippuden, in my accelerated rewatch. The episode is called "A True Ending."

The equivalent chapters of the manga were ~38 chapters from the end.

There are over 100 episodes of the anime remaining. The animated version of the war arc is a travesty.

Managed to get a "tile purchasing" sort of a system working. It piggy-backs off the upgrade system, so when you click on an unavailable tile it spawn an invisible "building" with the upgrade widget attached.

That… seems pretty worth paying attention to.

This video is fun. While forming a guess I made two different maths errors that mostly cancelled each other out, so I ended up at a bit over half the real value, which I consider "close enough."
Some of Austin's finest work and even though I was incredibly incorrect at least I wasn't the MOST incorrect

Whoops, I exported a build of this town builder to see if it worked, and I may have gotten my resolution settings *slightly* wrong.

Because this is just a prototype, I'm currently using the ~third worst system imaginable to handle the "terrain." I have an actor that spawns planes in a grid, based on the entries in one single array.

To change a tile's type I just guess its location in the array and manually change the variable.

It sometimes comes to mind the way my sister gleefully, joyously told me that one of our Dad's ancestors was a Luddite, a "machine-breaker." At the age of ~17 I found it endlessly amusing that someone related to my very tech-fond father was part of such an anti-technology group.

It's ugly as heck right now, but as a two-day project I've thrown together a prototype for a little town-builder incremental. It needs a lot of polish and balancing, plus a mechanic or two, but I'm happy with how it's progressing.

Just finished Ep. 375 of Naruto, Kakashi vs. Obito, which features one of the best fights in *any* media, IMO. Well choreographed and "shot," emotionally resonant, it's my platonic ideal of a fight scene.

It's an *incredibly stupid* bit, but I really enjoy Sasuke returning after 3 years and however many murders and being like "I'll be hokage."

Buddy, you are *so dumb*, Naruto the famed moron is smarter than you.

I agree with this, but also, I have a bunch of finalised assets that look shitty, so it's not like I can tell them apart. That's just how it goes.
you should make placeholder graphics look incredibly shitty!! making a game is a long and complicated process and if you use ai to make placeholders that look finished at a glance you'll probably forget some of it, and then people will scour your whole game and you'll look like a fraud.

Back to my Naruto watch, and it's *such* a shame that the mechanics of Neji dying are so fuckin' stupid, and also presented badly, because the narrative and thematic elements involved are really sweet (if a little blunt).

Alright, time to watch this one and say "hell yeah!" to every game on the list.
The best games of 2025 give a glimpse into a better world — where artists can invite audiences into their memoirs, where AAAs are thematically ambitious and small teams can sculpt epics.

This is also my 100th(!!) proper video on YouTube, a milestone seven years in the making

My mum asked me to do her a favour, and start making a second game, so that she could stop lying when she told relatives that I am "making games."

I'll admit to a certain smug satisfaction as I told her that I've technically released three games this year.

I went back to an older project today to see if I could crack it: hard pixel texture sampling with vertex paint support.

It's 95% working now, supporting ^2 sample counts above 16, diffuse, normal & roughness + height.
