One of many costs to US murder (sorry, no better word for it) in Caribbean:

"United Kingdom is no longer sharing intelligence with the US about suspected drug trafficking vessels in the Caribbean because it does not want to be complicit in US military strikes and believes the attacks are illegal."

Sad. Man convicted of "harassment" and "stalking" in Missouri for public posts on social media and posting flyers around town criticizing local police officer.

Judge and jury ignore First Amendment.

This is crazy. New judge seeks to go above sentencing guidelines to send a message about immigration policy, as he sees it.

This is the same whining that we hear constantly from Trump, et al. Oh, the suffering they’ve endured in their gilded environs, all while ordinary people around the country are tear-gassed, grabbed off the streets, left to go hungry, or seen their clinical cancer trials halted on kingly whims.
What is Kavanaugh talking about? Genuinely, what "cost" has Sam Alito incurred for his values or opinions or whatever? People who already didn't like him before now like him even less? These people are such babies, man. www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

40 men Trump sent to CECOT tell the NYT they were beaten, tortured, and sexually assaulted. The details are worse than you can imagine.

We can’t let them get away with this. Miller and the other architects of this sadism need to go to prison.

The Times interviewed dozens of migrant men sent to a prison in El Salvador by the Trump administration. Independent forensic analysts called the testimony credible and consistent and said the treatment met the U.N.’s definition of torture.

These operations would be unlawful even if those murdered had all been criminals. But it's important to show just how much deception is involved from start to finish in this gruesome charade.
The AP tracked down details of some of the people killed in President Trump's military strikes on drug smugglers he describes as narco-terrorists.

They were, with one exception, not high-level criminals. One was a fisherman. One was a bus driver; another a taxi driver.

Jesus! Court hearing in ND Illinois today about ICE tactics:
Cortez says an agent wound up drawing a weapon and pointing it at her.

"They aimed it right at me, because I could see inside the barrel."

"My heart accelerated," she adds. "I was nervous they were going to shoot. I froze."

If you agree with the outrage over this video, over the fact that Kevin Roberts condemns antisemitism but is unwilling to condemn Tucker Carlson for platforming it, there are some lessons about the nature of justice. 🧵
1. A watershed moment.

The President of the Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action, Kevin Roberts , has announced that the organization is standing by Tucker Carlson in the aftermath of Tucker’s interview with neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes.

This isn’t Kevin bending his knee to Trump…this is something new

Yes, everything is broken and there is plenty of reason to be cynical. But making noise when officials violate the constitution still sometimes works and we're going to keep doing it.
Hyattsville Immigration Court has lifted its ridiculous requirement for reporters to get permission from furloughed federal agents to cover hearings.

We wrote to the court’s top judge yesterday about how the requirement violated the constitution.

It is illegal for the U.S. military to deliberately target civilians — even those suspected of being criminals — who do not pose a threat of imminent violence. In peacetime, that is murder. In an armed conflict, that is a war crime."
