Difficult to read but important. For those unaware, the IUCN Red List was updated, and 61% of birds species are noted to now be in decline. Habitat loss and degradation are the most prevalent cause.

Oh I also became a cat mom this past year. Milo was a kitten we took from a litter that was living under our porch! He’s nice and spoiled now :)

Anyone here good with hydrangeas? I’m unsure if mine got hit with a fungus or something… we did have bark beetles unfortunately this summer.
I checked some stems and they are alive! I just don’t know whats wrong and what to do for next spring :( Location is northern VA!

Well, it's official. After our paper last year (onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....), the Slender-billed Curlew is officially declared Extinct today.

One of my fav things I got this year was a hummingbird feeder bird buddy! Unfortunately, the humbums have left my area for warmer climates but here’s a video of a lovely male RTHU who came to visit a bit ago :)

Like I am legitimately concerned of failing. My experience has not been great in terms of my mental health, but I know I have one committee member in my corner. I don’t anticipate it being easy. And I hope it’s just revisions and I pass. IDK so nervous.
