My abuela passed away three weeks ago. And the last few hummingbirds I saw were all female RTHU. I can’t help but think of them both now, hearing my abuela sing about el zunzun and my abuelo telling me stories of them.

Back on the bird site, I used to talk about how much hummingbirds mean to me. My abuelos both loved them and always talked about el zunzuncito (the Bee Hummingbird) to me. When my abuelo passed away, I couldn’t help but see him in every hummingbird I saw.
