A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

This is the line that Dems need to push. It can't be simply. "Political violence is bad" it MUST be "Political violence is bad and Trump and his ilk are responsible for creating conditions ripe for political violence"
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on the shooting of Charlie Kirk:

"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."

when i eat my slop its charming, self aware and if we're being honest with ourselves a little revolutionary. a small liberation from the prison of high culture and good taste. when you eat your slop it's anti-intellectual, myopic and a self-centred rejection of art as conscious human value

Such 'crime fighting tools' don't work. Have never worked. Will never work. They are an amplification device for the biases, prejudices and cruelties of the law-and-order state, designed to continually harass and terrify a population.

This has Thiel and Palantir's stink all over it.
And *of course* they're using ethnicity and mental health as predictors of criminal behaviour.

- German tourist Jessica Brösche spent more than a month in detention, including eight days in solitary confinement, suffering one of the worst human rights violations

I was a British tourist trying to leave America. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre
Graphic artist Rebecca Burke was on the trip of a lifetime. But as she tried to leave the US she was stopped, interrogated and branded an illegal alien by ICE. Now back home, she tells others thinking...

Not to be a wide-eyed naïf about such things but... am I right in thinking that they levelled an entire building to get to one guy and *that* is not controversial to anyone in the American media or political class, only that this information was recklessly shared in an unsecured chat?
