There's a reason I switched my PhD research from AI to testing. Software engineering is about to be a lot more about specifications and testing than it currently is.

Engineers will be no less vital, but day-to-day responsibilities are going to shift over the next several years.

I'm sure the Rams can find another WR who will promptly be determined by sports media to be the reason why Stafford's numbers are MVP-level.

What are you doing up here? I live close enough that I've walked to that Mooyah

Are you in Sun Prairie?

It's literally the insignia from the "Are we the baddies?" skit that became a meme.

Who takes off their shirt while drinking at a bar? I mean, I live in *Wisconsin* and have never seen that.

It's more of we were 0-3 going on to the game and not expecting much. Disappointing end to a 97 win season, sure, but my god that was a Hall of Fame showing.

Yep, here cheering for the Brewers, but watching the best single game of baseball anyone has ever played.

I'm sitting in a Wisconsin bar watching the greatest player to ever play the game dismantle the local team, and no one is upset, just in awe.

He's in my top ten QBs of all time, and it continues to amaze me how the press in general falls over themselves to explain his stats by any possible reason other than he's one of the great quarterbacks.

There aren't "millions" without representation, either. The metro area has millions, but most of it is in surrounding states that do have congressional representation. DC itself has a population of about ~700k.

My wife keeps threatening to revoke my Southerner status because I don't like any sort of seafood.

I mean, I'm literally a doctor of stopping shit like this from happening. When I interviewed at Google, every tech interview was about designing global-scale networks. The job was on a team writing low-level drivers.

I have to say that Wildflowers is the best choice here. And then, 16 years after that, there's Mojo, which is also amazing.

I think Pop is a good choice -- underrated, one of my favorite U2 albums. Yeah, everything drops off after Achtung Baby, but Achtung Baby is one of the Great Albums, so...
May 2, 2025 at 3:51 AM
Yeah, was looking for this. Wildflowers is one of the Great Albums, 18 years after Petty's debut.

As we're about to hear a whole lot more about autism and vaccines, the great @zachweinersmith.bsky.social has already pointed out the only relevant relationship between the two.

Yeah, he only got a BS. His catapult to billionairedom was writing Mosaic while at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at UIUC.

Which is rich, since what propelled him to his current position was work at UIUC.

11 million out of 300 million people is not a big ask, you can do it. Take the quoted post and copy it or make your own version, ask your family and friends to join.

We only need 3.5% of the US population to commit to a general strike and to make the oligarchy kneel. Let’s get it done by May. #3E
If you want a general strike we need at least 10 million people to commit to ensure a successful action.

The numbers are still too low. Use a burner email and name if needed to sign.

The problem is that people like Matt *know* what the next step is, they *know* that it involves really bad shit you can't talk about publicly, but every last one of these mediocre cishet white dudes want to rush straight to civil war, but are *absolutely* not imagining themselves on the front line.
