The "chicken and the egg" question always bugged me. If you think about it for five minutes, obviously the egg would have come first. 'oh but you need a chicken to lay the egg!' NO YOU DON'T. I know I'm a Rick&Morty nerd but listen. The fact that stranded OG Rick didn't resort to eating the feral versions of his grandkid is impressive. He even comments on how the extra versions of his grandchild started eating each other, but it didn't even seem to cross his mind to do the same thing
