Eight Palestine Action activists held on remand in UK prisons are now in the seventh week of a mass hunger strike, with lawyers warning some could die in custody if the government does not intervene. None have been convicted, yet all have been denied bail and held for up to 18 months awaiting trial. Half are accused of actions against Elbit Systems’ Bristol R&D site, Israel’s largest arms firm, while others face charges over spraying RAF planes at Brize Norton, a base linked to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, a hub for Western military support to Israel. At least five strikers have been hospitalized after 30–40 days without food. They are demanding release on bail, fair trials, an end to prison surveillance and censorship, the unbanning of Palestine Action, and the closure of Elbit’s UK operations. The Justice Ministry claims it is monitoring their health but has not agreed to act.
