Last year, I reported on a problematic NYPD unit led by a particularly problematic commander.

The commander once pointed a gun at a motorcyclist and threatened to kill him.

Well, that commander, Kaz Daughtry, has a new job.

He now works for Trump's DHS.

What if we did not have those videos? How many Americans would have believed this? Or given the Administration the benefit of the doubt?

This raises another — and rather urgent — question.

What else is happening that we are not seeing on camera?

Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

My column this week. The people running to make Alabama government responsive to its citizens can't count on the current electorate. They need to work to bring back the millions of Alabamians who have stopped voting, and restore their faith in the political process.

Whatever happened with that INSANE LIE/fictional person? They are such incredible fucking clowns.
