I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

When the Trump administration eviscerated the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health office in Morgantown, WV in April, they abruptly shut down life-or-death services for coal miners with black lung.

here is a small thread of some new policies effective 1/1/25 related to work and families:

first is NY is offering at least 20 hours of prenatal care leave for privately employed workers with pregnancy-related appointments including medical care, end of pregnancy care, fertility treatments, etc.
New York employers must now offer paid medical leave during pregnancy
Pregnant New Yorkers will be entitled to at least 20 hours of paid leave to attend prenatal medical appointments under a new law. Gov.
