Pulled together some of my thoughts on AB - CAN agreement here. Simply put, this agreement is likely to deepen divides in the country, not heal them.

MOU Problems
While intended to heal the rift in Canadian unity, the agreement between federal and Alberta provincial governments risks leaving the country even more divided

universal ostrich/bc was never about the birds

hope they made their donation dreams come true

hope not too many wild birds were infected by theirs and carried to virus to other wildlife in other places

An animal sanctuary in the Okanagan had avian flu detected in some of their birds. In contrast to Universal Ostrich they complied with the CFIA rules, culling some of their animals and quarantining the rest. Today they have learned their flock of peacocks will not have to be culled

What was done to Indigenous peoples in the name of Christianity was brutal and dehumanising; the violence, the forced conversions, the cultural erasure.

Your anguish is completely valid. Acknowledging that truth is how we honour them and ensure it never happens again.
Is it weird that I think of what they did to native Indians. I have such anguish for them. They took their women & children, cut their hair demanded they abandon their language, forced them to read the Bible, forced them into slavery, ra*pe , them called them savages all under the name of god .

Religion, overwhelmingly, is a masterful system of control! ‼️

It exploits trust, manipulates emotions, enforces conformity, and hides behind unverifiable authority, shaping minds & behaviour whilst stifling critical thought & personal freedom.

Religion, overwhelmingly, is a menace to society.

God and the question of evil

Every theistic attempt to justify evil either limits God’s power, limits God’s goodness, or abandons reason altogether!

That’s the dilemma apologists (like William Lane Craig) never truly escape, however eloquently they might phrase it.

Biblical god makes no sense!

Women are upholding religion.

If women gave up religion, it would die off immediately, because men would no longer be interested, as they’d lose the advantage of a subjugated, obedient woman!

Yesterday in Question Period I raised a troubling incident:
Flight attendants were kicked out of the gallery for wearing pre-approved shirts saying “Unpaid Work Won’t Fly" because a Liberal MP was uncomfortable. Since when do government MPs get to decide who can watch our democracy in action?

A company that has ties to the US Military is applying to lease BC coastal lands.

There is a Gov't link in the article to voice your concerns before October 5th.

They can use their own coastal lands. Stay out of Canada!

France has denounced the threat to the court. So far silence from the PM. Canada needs to be clear where we stand.
