Please take a moment to read this 🧵.

It’s a powerfully written account of a child’s parental betrayal and seeing the same parallels in the actions of Democratic members of Congress.

When I was 14, it came out that my father had abused me. DFACS told my mom either he had to leave the house or I did.

Yikes!

Debra Messing seems to be entering her Victoria Jackson (SNL), Kirstie Alley, and Roseanne Barr late stage career arc.

Hey @nypost.com this entire phenomenon of hate-spewing fanatics seems to have slipped your mind for a moment, even though they've been constantly targeting innocent young people who are just doing their civic duty to try and help their city. Let me know if your dipshit inexperienced hacks need help.

fyi, the SNAP eliminations are a Project 2025 mandate.

SNAP recipients didn’t lose benefits during prior such shutdowns.

Pay attention.

Black and Brown people. PLEASE, PLEASE for the love of us all do not allow yourself to be interviewed if SNAP benefits don't come on November 1. Make the white folks do the interviews. They love getting Black folks to do these interviews so that people think we are the only ones hurt.

We're at a beyond-dangerous moment where the perpetrators view it as both real AND an act.
"LOL, I'mma pretend to be a Nazi and actually kill people. ...What? OMG, no, I'm not really a Nazi." And this is actually the thought process.
This is the critical point—for a substantial plurality of men, the line between cosplay and real-life villainy has completely dissolved.
The millennial/Gen Z hard right views harm to an innocent as hilarious irony; the act of *causing* that harm is perceived as no more "real" than playing a prank.
Upon learning that your own mistake sent an innocent father to a brutal prison where he’s likely to be tortured, anyone with a shred of decency would be overcome with shame and fight like hell to get him back.

They think it’s funny.

this is something that individual members of Congress could do tomorrow. The government is shut down so they could use their district offices. I suggested in January that they turn those offices into full on community centers where people could find each other re: mutual aid etc...
If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

Of the four kinds of politicians, the best is one that drives public opinion toward justice. The second best (seen here) follows public opinion toward justice. The second worst (also seen here) follows public opinion toward injustice. And the worst drives opinion toward injustice.
