Senator Manka Dhingra's "RECOURSE" bill is🔥.

It withholds state payments to the federal government equal to any federal funds illegally withheld from us.

Love this.

SHAME SHAME SHAME on the NYT … trying to make sense of trump’s madness once again rather than calling it out for what it is — egomaniacal insanity.

It’s solidarity w/ folks that helps keep discouragement at bay. Grateful that so many community members turned out for today’s ICE OUT FOR GOOD rally in Kirkland WA.

This bill to restrict the use of facial coverings by law enforcement officers is getting a public hearing on the very first day of Washington's legislative session, next Monday.

You can weigh in on it, without testifying, here:

Also Kelli Curtis will continue serving as Kirkland's mayor for another two years. Neal Black will be deputy mayor.
Shilpa Prem has been sworn in as a member of the Kirkland City Council, replacing longtime councilmember Penny Sweet and keeping that council seat in progressive hands after a contentious election.

ELECTIONS MATTER!
“The 6-1 vote to increase the height limit in both…to 75 feet comes on the heels of a closely watched election…focused around growth issues. The sole “no” vote came from Jon Pascal, the only candidate…to win his race after being promoted by Kirkland’s slow growth advocates.”

Kirkland opponents of “La Quinta” PSH certainly won’t be shy to use this. Fortunately the most vociferous opponents running for Kirkland City Council were defeated.
I'm sure this column definitely won't be used as a cudgel against the planned Health through Housing project that is about to open in Kirkland.
In the same editorial section, Danny Westneat has a piece declaring the county's hotel shelter program a failure (his emblematic example being a building that turned out to have structural issues), concluding that "the operating costs for managing homeless populations have been [too] high."

Have you ever seen a bike lane sweeper - pulled behind a bike?

Volunteers in Kirkland have a new tool that attaches to the back of an e-bike. It's good for protected bike lanes, sidewalks, and narrow trails.

Yep buying houses w/ sub-minimum wages … wonder where those “finds” are? Absurd but tragically too many will believe it.
FOX NEWS: Do you believe that the number of people who came into the country illegally is one of the major factors that drove up housing prices?

FED GOV STEPHAN MIRAN: I absolutely believe that's the case

💯
At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell just conceded to progressive challenger Katie Wilson at a ceremony at City Hall.

Wilson won by about 2,000 votes in a close race.

New Dem motto: “We are now all
Susan Collins”
“We’ll see.”

We’re supposed to accept that Democratic leadership allowed this caliber of strategist to negotiate a deal with the most diabolical, mendacious group of politicians in American government.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

They gotta go … now is not a moment too soon. Such feckless “leadership.” I wouldn’t be surprised if cowardly, not-too-bright Chuck once again caves on the budget/shutdown.
So far today, Chuck Schumer has said his strategy for preventing Trump sending troops into blue cities is to win over Republican senators (!) while Hakeem Jeffries praised Eric Adams's courage and authenticity (!!) while refusing to endorse Mamdani. Again.

These two gotta go.

Holding on to this.
I want to be clear about what I'm saying here.

I'm not denying the danger.
I'm not denying the threat.

I AM saying that we live in a geographically huge country where the vast majority oppose this administration.

They don't have the power to work on that scale.
Tho they want us to believe they do
They don’t have the power to do what they’re threatening on a grand scale.

But they want us to think they do.
