By sending us $2,000 to give to billionaire insurance CEOs, and by tripling the interest we pay to mortgage companies while he continues to limit what we can write off, he's effectively looting the treasury and using us a mules to launder the stolen money; funneling it to the wealthy.
QUINTANILLA: What's more likely -- a $2,000 tariff rebate check or a 50 year mortgage?

HASSETT: They're both really good ideas

The news: President Donald J. Trump preemptively pardoned partisans who conspired with him to subvert the 2020 election.

Get smart: The abuse of entrusted power for personal or political gain is corruption.

Why it matters: Trump’s abuses of the pardon power are corrupt.

Trump’s blanket pardons for stop-the-steal illegality aren’t only about settling scores from past elections. They’re about laying the groundwork to subvert future ones.

Senators’ new privacy right illustrates the dire state of our democracy. The pluses are that it insulates against Trump abusing power to investigate his opponents and the cons are that it enables senatorial corruption.

Everyone should be able to sue for privacy violations. But not like this.

It’s a sign of the times that the only Americans who will be able to obtain damages for constitutional violations are these corrupt Senators whose rights weren’t violated at all.
