W ramach eksperymentu próbowałem w 2025 roku słuchać wszystkiego, co mi w ręce wpadnie i jechać przez to hurtem, żeby chociaż raz zobaczyć jak najszerszy przekrój tego, co się w black metalu dzieje.

But we have to look beyond the individual leaders, grotesque and pathetic though they may be, to understand that we are witnessing the convulsions of history itself - the current system has exhausted its historical role, but there is no coherent movement to replace it.

What we as a species have to understand is that our leaders do not care about the consequences of war, which they (stupidly) believe will not touch them. They are willing to plunge our entire civilization into darkness so they can make some extra money.

This explains why I kept seeing folks complaining about the first 2 Testament albums — “they’re too quiet”… well yes, if you’re listening on your iPhone

If you listen to an original CD, vinyl or tape, simply turning the volume up on the amp solves the quiet “issue” with no loss of dynamic range

Labels need to STOP bullshitting us with brickwalled 70s/80s re-releases and calling them “remasters”; they’ve just made them sound louder — why? Because iPhones don’t have amplification. What’s worse is that they press these brickwalled remasters to vinyl, defeating the entire purpose of vinyl.

I completely missed it, but Avidan released a new record this year, and it's great. He has one of the most unique voices, a great talent for writing songs-that-you-remember, and his was one of the best gigs I've ever seen.

Here's a great neofolk album with some absolute bangers. The opening is beautiful, and "Argonaut and Magneto" + "Feathers Of The Wings Of The Angel Gabriel" are gonna be stuck in your head forever.

interesting thing about discussing black metal is that it can't be discussed out of context (not in a way that respects the genre) = it's impossible to talk about it on Bluesky (length) = this creates a natural "gatekeeping" mechanism that widens the gap between idiotic and intelligent perspectives
The distinct lack of black metal appreciation on Bluesky

Obsidian is one of the rare pieces of software that doesn't suck, and, even weirder, it constantly keeps improving.
Obsidian Importer now lets you generate Markdown files from a CSV.

It converts thousands records in seconds and automatically generates a Base that you can use to explore and edit the data.
