-The Devils, Joe Abercrombie. I liked it well enough by the end, but I found the dialogue too quippy for my taste.
-Ancillary Justice, Ann Leckie. Man, it took me a while to get going but once I did I could not stop.
-When Gravity Fails, George Effinger. Ehh.

How do you sustain an hour-long design/story debate where you simultaneously:
1) don't think you're wrong
2) don't feel like a huge asshole for not conceding

After a few years GMing pretty much anything BUT Dungeons and Dragons, I ran a oneshot (2024 rules). And it was actually a blast.

Lot of my friends were talking about the Stormlight Archive series so I checked it out. And, well... it wasn't for me.
I can say about The Way of Kings is the world-building/dollar ratio is high.
