Some of the same Newcastle optimism/pessimism. Views my own ✊
A sample of one of the logical reasons:

Appears I’ve not been on here to give my thoughts on Newcastle’s very exciting season – flying in the Champions League, another winnable cup quarter-final, lots to love…

Idolised and adored. No promises broken by the fans that make this club.

We deserve better than the destructive path you've chosen.

Newcastle United will never be defeated.

I don’t think Alex Isak’s agent is going to be picking up many new high-profile, high-value clients..
August 12, 2025 at 8:47 AM
While I’m over here, I’d love for some transfer fans to explain to me what they think a transfer request is and how they think it works. Apparently that changes everything for Isak, as if up until now Newcastle have thought he’d secretly really like to stay

If I was Liverpool, I simply wouldn’t have signed my second-choice striker target if it then meant I couldn’t later sign my first-choice striker target

My latest for the mighty @tfnufc.bsky.social

Nobody works at #NUFC. So let’s hold on to what we have. That means Isak.

Don't sell Isak (whoever you even are...)

"He was a local lad who made the first team, got that goal against PSG and scored the winning penalty in a shootout where we went onto win a cup. Maybe he couldn't win a free kick to save his life, but so what? In this house Sean Longstaff is a hero, end of fucking story"

Watch all the breakdowns of Elanga’s game you like, to see why we’ve bought him, but listen to that interview. The kid is switched on, has done his homework, is already using ‘we’ and genuinely comes across as smart and focused. That’s where the value is for Eddie alongside the technical ability.

Fair play. I wonder where all the Club World Cup money is coming from that Chelsea are able to spend?

*checks notes*

Ah….
#NUFC wanted Joao Pedro (& had made a bid for him), but @david-ornstein.bsky.social reports that #CFC have reached an agreement with #BHAFC for the Brazilian. Was always feared he preferred a move to London.

Other targets, including Elanga, still in play for #NUFC: www.nytimes.com/athletic/646...
Chelsea reach agreement with Brighton to sign Joao Pedro
A deal in excess of £50million has been struck, while personal terms are in place on a contract until 2032.

Always difficult to know how much outside noise influences opinions. Watched today’s game on my own without comms, and while I’m not saying I’m right and others are wrong, social media seems to suggest most people would massively disagree with my analysis

A huge Champions League semi-final here between two sides who are just glad they’re not playing Newcastle..
April 29, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Newcastle have now already matched their points tally from 2003-04, when they finished fifth… albeit with the fewest points from any fifth-placed finisher in a 38-game PL season. Can aim higher than that, anyway – particularly if, at some point, they actually play well

Isak is the first player to score 20+ goals for Newcastle in consecutive top-flight seasons since Pop Robson in the 1968-69 and 1969-70 seasons. He’s the first to score 20+ goals for Newcastle in consecutive league seasons since Kevin Keegan in 1982-83 and 1983-84

People often ask me how I can support Newcastle Utd and work for Amnesty.

After Wembley, here’s an attempt at an answer.

Maybe it’s hypocrisy. Maybe it’s sportswashing. Maybe it’s honesty.

You can decide. 🧵

Today’s the day. No doubts

Obviously, notably, they still haven’t beaten Liverpool under Howe, but I’ve felt since the last final Newcastle have grown with every experience and are getting closer and closer to winning these biggest of games
