It’s actually pathetic to apply to college, get accepted, pay to be there, and then try to stop your professor from teaching you because you’re such a huge fan of authoritarianism. Even more pathetic to record your professor to get them fired.

Took my kids to M3GAN 2.0 and we had a blast - It’s like Terminator 2 by way of Bride of Chucky.

If you were watching #DrWho in England during the original pre-1989 era, was it publicized when a new actor was about to take over the role, like it would be today, or was it a big surprise when The Doctor regenerated?

Even small-time guys like me got their intellectual property taken by Meta's plagiarism-robot. And they're going to get away with it. It's so discouraging... www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...

"I was what you call 'ragged' - I wasn't gonna be no man's friend today."

I discovered "Loveless" over the weekend - If I had seen this at 20, it would have become my whole personality.

ShadowDark takes all the charm and imagination of classic tabletop RPGs and adds decades of collective experience and innovation. Easy to learn, fun to play.

The kickstarter for the first true expansion from The Arcane Library went live this morning - highly recommended

A nice thing about our current era - You can accidentally watch "Live and Die in L.A." for the first time. Holy moly.

I started watching "Sapphire and Steel" and just finished the second story last night, but its sticking with me this morning. The first story was aggressively weird, but I was not ready for how dark the ending of the second one would be.

Listening to Grady Hendrix on @scarredforlife.bsky.social Podcast talking about watching British Sci-Fi on American PBS reminded me of many late nights with the great Mike Frisbie who hosted a block of these shows on Iowa Public Television through the 90's youtu.be/5DWWWzblm6A?...

I watched "The Vourdalak" last night - The decision to use a puppet for the creature makes the whole story feel like you've stumbled into some 18th Cent. traveling show. The whole thing is really effective -

When my kids are confronted by some terrible realization about the unfairness of the world, there's often not much I can do other than give them a hug and say something that hopefully hits midway between corny and encouraging.

If anybody out there is wanting for that kind of thing, HMU.

There's a cool bit in "Only the Dead Known Burbank" where the undead protagonist describes having the learn how to force air through their lifeless body in order to talk. And I've been thinking about it ever since hearing Bill Skarsgard's Orlok voice in "Nosferatu."
