Part of the liberal project must be destroying Republicans’ standing with the public in order to mitigate future hames done by their malicious bad faith. At some point, they will want to be the party of family values again and it has to be clear that’s a sick joke.

Today we mourn the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson, a giant of the civil rights movement who never stopped demanding that America live up to its promise.

He marched, he ran, he organized and he preached justice without apology.

May we honor him not just in words, but in struggle.

DHS is holding a 2-month-old BABY at a detention facility in Texas.

Last night, Juan Nicolás was rushed to the hospital after choking on his own vomit & being unable to breathe.

This demands accountability — not a blank check for more cruelty.
I have an update on Juan Nicolás, the 2-month-old baby detained at Dilley, and his mother.

At each stage in America's fascism, the current stage is admitted by commentators while the future is denied.

Once they denied Trump was fascist. Now they concede it.

Now they deny the concentration camps & that there will be attempts to overturn elections.

They are more useful to Trump than ICE.

That's still murder, dudes. You don't have to kill them with missiles to murder them.
A second government official... questioned why, after months of attacks in the region, search and rescue assets weren’t pre-positioned closer to the Eastern Pacific.

“SOUTHCOM doesn’t want these people alive,” that official said.
EXCLUSIVE: U.S. Sent a Rescue Plane for Boat Strike Survivors. It Took 45 Hours to Arrive.

In seas that could kill a person within an hour, it took nearly two days for a rescue plane to arrive.

They want us to follow the norms of American law when it comes to ICE identification **and** they want us to follow the norms of American law when it comes to voter ID?

I mean, this stuff is just intellectually inconsistent if, like Tom Emmer, you were repeatedly kicked in the head by a mule.
Emmer: "Another reform they claim they want is they want ICE agents to identify themselves, to show identification. But they don't want identification for voters in elections. I mean, this stuff is just intellectually inconsistent."

I think it’s time for Democratic leaders to start saying “if you’re a pilot or ground crew involved in a deportation that was stayed by a judge, you’ll be held criminally liable for human trafficking.” Everyone involved in these flights should have that fear in the back of their minds.
Overnight, this probable ICE flight landed in Benin and is now returning to Senegal, likely for a crew layover.

The legislation wouldn’t ban prayer, religious clubs, wearing religious symbols, or do any of the things religious zealots love to complain about. It would merely strengthen what the Constitution already says.
For years, Christian Nationalists wrote model bills to push religion into public schools.

Now secular groups are fighting back—with their own blueprint.

And lawmakers in multiple states are already introducing it.

This is a huge shift.

I think Democrats should stop with “Trump is doing deportation wrong” because I think they should stop focusing on immigration as a matter of crime and punishment. It should a matter of freedom and opportunity. The question should be how is the government going to protect and advance both.
