On this particular day I want to say that a critic's job is to criticize art, and an artist's job is to make something that resonates with specific people, which necessarily means it won't resonate with others. I've been thinking about this and I feel like there's disconnect on both sides.
Samus has never been portrayed as a Boba Fett style Bounty Hunter, but all the Motherly stuff is also being blown out of proportion.
Samus is just a space hero, responding to SOS signals and fighting villains.

I think this is at the heart of why AI is useful to fascists. They seek to throttle the imagination, so people won't be able to think of ways to stop them. People won't be able to hope for anything better.
