Subsidence on the Snake Pass - half the road disintegrated. This is happening elsewhere on the road too. Difficult decisions ahead but, in the meantime (& maybe for the long term) it makes a great cycle path across the Pennines #peakdistrict #Sheffield #Manchester #ladybower #glossop #climatechange

"Oh yes" I say, like Churchill dog.
My bike outside, my panniers strewn and my hi-vis on my chair.
"Do you like cycling in the dark?"
"Oh yes" I reply. My camera chomping at the bit for the drama of urban lights and the joy of passing a jam.

#GoneFishing is such heartwarming TV! I have no interest in fishing at all but whenever I watch it, I dont want it to end as I just want to spend more time with them! Its a perfect antidote to all the depressing news we are bombarded with.

Then I went down amongst the bells to half muffle them for Remembrance Sunday. Quite an adventure clambering into and hauling back out of the bell pits. Half muffled is the most evocative bell sound.

A man pushes a red shopping trolley past the bar. I ordered rosado but did I mean roja they asked. Red and white, the colours of Atletico Bilbao. Inside the trolley is the base of an office chair. Tres otros hombres, two with cigars. Fat cigars. A man shows me a map. It says Rio-Oja. Rioja, I ask?

IMPORTANT: The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart governments do the math on investing in better mobility.
