Secretariat has now come back with outcome which shows €47 millions-worth of changes

💶 €2,450,000 added
💶 €23,145,000 taken off
💶 €22,150,000 removed

🤥 Incredibly disappointing: the Commission denied the EU was involved in any of the projects shown

It's been quite a week for the 🇪🇺 #deregulation agenda after the publication of the 6th #omnibus - this time on chemicals.

The whole #chemicals package delivered a huge gain for the industry, with very few obligations in return.

Although 🇪🇺 leaders praise green hydrogen as a climate solution, communities in 🇿🇦 are being displaced, silenced and polluted in its name.

Today, for the first time, impacted communities had their voices heard by MEPs and the European Commission.

2/2 Correia says that the CTIP is responding to South Africa's coal dominated energy sector (80+%).

Yet building vast quantities of renewable electricity to be used to produce green hydrogen, which is then exported, is NOT going to clean up the grid.

Predictably disappointing.
