Love, grace, freedom, books, music, twirling in a field of flowers. Exploring faith after a spiritually abusive environment. God is far better than I'd realized. Rethinking everything. Trying to be more fun. I ❤ libraries.

Think of some truly evil people. People who hate God and everything holy—people you genuinely despise.

Now: Imagine them repenting and receiving grace and love from the LORD.

How would you feel about such lavish grace?

Angry? Disappointed? Frustrated? Cheated?

This is the book of Jonah.

Reasons to preorder my book as a holiday gift:

1 Your gift won’t be lost in the Christmas rush
2 One click and you’re done
3 No wrapping needed!

If you preorder Weathering Change, I’d be happy to record a little Merry Christmas vid you could give the recipient while they wait.

Speaking at church this Sunday, and every time I try to work on my sermon, my brain goes a dozen directions and won't focus anywhere.
Anyone wanna write this sermon for me? Or at least give me a topic?
Joking not joking.

“One cannot love God without extending one’s love to the poor.

Love for our neighbor is tangible proof of the authenticity of our love for God.”

When you demonize and mistreat the immigrant, the poor, the starving, and the marginalized, I'm not interested in hearing about your religious beliefs.

You've already shown me what they are by how you're demonizing and mistreating the immigrant, the poor, the starving, and the marginalized.

He's been rambling for several minutes, sounding a little out of breath, and has yet to get to any kind of point.
with regard to a Gaza deal, Trump says he and Netanyahu are "at a minimum very very close, and I think we're beyond very close. And I want to thank Bibi for really getting in there and doing a job."

Suppose someone's child is gunned down. If one of you says to them, "Here are my thoughts and prayers," but does nothing else, what good is it?

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Just finished watching S2 of Shiny Happy People, and the number of statements that echoed my Chi Alpha college ministry experience was a lot.

An aside: I didn't attend any Teen Mania events, but the church I went to in my 20s-mid 40s sent teens to Acquire the Fire & some went on the mission trips.

I always appreciate @hcrichardson.bsky.social 's letters and political chat videos, and Thursday she went to a whole new level - references to Shakespeare and Jane Austen. Jane Austen! Pride and Prejudice!
HCR, thank you for all of it.

Public virtue is NOT relative. It is objectively wrong to lie, to cheat, to steal, to falsely accuse, to have prejudice against others because of immutable traits or religious affiliation. It is wrong to embezzle. It is wrong to sexually assault people. Voters have to start believing this again.

My father-in-law died unexpectedly yesterday. He was 76. We are so sad, and the whole thing has felt so surreal.
