I've had a difficult relationship with my dad for 2 decades. I do not like the man. He moved across the country when I was 10 and made it my responsibility to maintain the relationship. I had to be the one to visit him and any problems we have are my fault.

My convalescent zone is in the living room. I've got my half of our bed and a small end table for drinks, meds, various hygiene needs, etc. My claw grabber, crutches, work laptop, knitting bag, iPad, and other activity items are also w/in reach.
I've been living here for a few days shy of a month.

A broken leg is a character-revealing event for a partnership and I'm immensely grateful to say that my husband is simply the best. From three weeks ago he found me on the ground to now, he has been everything you want in a partner during such an injury.

My main goal for this injury was avoiding constipation from hydrocodone. It took a week from my injury to have surgery and during this pre-op purgatory, I managed with Advil and Tylenol.
Post-op was a different story. Unmanaged pain was panic-inducing and I had to give in and take the "good meds."

Going off hormonal birth control for the first time in 23 years has been a ~trip~. I wish I had done this sooner but I also would not have had certain tools at my disposal before now and I wasn't taking risks with my life plans.
So far, I'm a big fan of the Oura Ring + NaturalCycles.
