Also some art groups only care for networking which is necessary but it is not the only point.
You have to have fun and share your passion with others.
I am in a small group of small artists and people who draw as a hobby and I have never felt more motivated in my life.

To clarify: Avoid people/organizations that treat creativity like there is a version of “winning” that is OBJECTIVE and MUST BE OBSERVED by everyone else. That’s all about ego.
