There’s a new short story up on my website. This one was published in the Lancashire Evening Post recently.
Please take a look it’s only 1100 words, shouldn’t take long to read.
All comments welcome.

Was volunteering at the @thelowtherpavilion.bsky.social last night during the sellout Milton Jones show, I ended up having to go out in the pouring rain and see off some idiot who was fishing in the pond in our gardens.
Not a casual fisher, he’d a rod, landing net and the full kit.
Cheeky bugger.

Just heard that our Classically Lowther event on 24th March will be the very first event held in our brand new theatre @thelowtherpavilion.bsky.social.
Plus the theatre has been donated a Steinway model V piano. Things are looking great.

Woke up a bit later this morning, so nothing done yet. Got a music lesson at 10:00, so hope I can write something after lunch.
By 6:30am yesterday I'd written 1,000 words, so that's a target to aim for at least. Discipline, that's what I need.

YES THIS HAPPENED. Also in a general sense if ASL interpreters are working one of my events and there is time, I try to give them access to any prepared materials and generally go over things that I suspect will present an issue for them. The idea they're not needed or useful is shitty ableist BS.
Reminds me of the time at WorldCon when an ASL interpreter completely stole the show from Scalzi by signing the HELL out of a short story filled with weird alien words. Scalzi was laughing too hard to read half the time.

ASL interpreters are valuable and amazing and must be protected.
Imagine being threatened and irritated by ASL interpreters. Shut this shit down. There is no validity to the "point", they are not valid, shut up, go away. Sick of these snowflakes.

In the meantime: here's the extraordinary Sarah Tubert: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n4Y...

Badly. I get frustrated and sit in coffee shops trying to break the deadlock. It was entirely due to inadequate plotting during novel 1, which stranded me a few times. It won't happen for 2.
