I finally finished my little free game !
It's called Type Good, and it's a word-puzzle game where you find words via minimalist clues (from scramble letters to more cryptic ones). It's available for free and playable on itch right here :

The one upside of generative AI is that it made me value human-made art more. Art that didn't really impress me before feels way more meaningful now. Thanks slop, you made me appreciate human creativity more than ever.

While portfolios could always use new pieces and polish, the reality is hundreds and hundreds of folks are applying for the same positions. Scrambling for whatever is available. It's easy to take it all personally, but the industry has been hollowed out by greed and mismanagement. It ain't on you.

I can't emphasize this enough: If you're struggling to find work in games, you're not the only one and please don't blame yourself. The horrible state of the industry is unprecedented. The crash in the 80s and the recession in the late 2000s weren't as rough as this. There are so few opportunities.
