Real Bird Fake Bird (from @folly.studio):
It's a new daily game about general culture, where you must find what's real or not from a given prompt. I really like that idea, and it's fun even if I'm bad at it.

The Swapper (from Facepalm Games):
An interesting game, that had a good pacing difficulty wise, and some fun mechanics. I almost managed to get everything without hints, and even if I got some problems with the traductions, I really liked the final twist.

Her Trees: First puzzle (from @stone-gamedev.bsky.social):
It's from the "Her Trees" serie, and when I saw that a game was already available for free, I definitely wanted to give it a try. It's a really good concept that give me some "Cube Escape" vibe. I'm really hyped for the rest !

Tiny Block Pushers Serie (from @hempuli.bsky.social):
I didn't try every little games from the serie, but with only what I have tried, I can say that it's great work ! A good base that can expand in so many variants is actually impressive.

Solas 128 (from @amicableanimal.bsky.social):
Since the demo, I really like the concept of that game, and the entire style of it. The music, the graphics, and even the puzzles are really cool. Only the last bonus ones were really difficult.

Orange/Purple (from @bartbonte.bsky.social):
If you haven't played any of the colors games, you definitely should ! It's a good mix between challenging and approachable, even if some rare puzzles are really hard. And of course, the last 2 of the series don't deviate from the rule.
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
It was really inspiring, with good use of what we can do with our technology, and I'm already hyped for the next one ! Personally, my favorite part was the big center piece, and other parts of the museum but, no spoil.

The Zium Exposition (from @theziumsociety.itch.io):
I really like this concept of virtual museum ! It's not something I see a lot (since it wasn't something I was aware of), and now I want to see more of that (with different points of view or more interactions or just in a made up universe).

Some puzzles really inspire me, personally. I also need to do the other games from the other years, I'm very late on it. But I must say, the idea to make a puzzle a day for the entirety of december, and then putting the rest by chunk is not a bad idea !

The Confounding Calendar (organised by Corey Hardt):
I really like that concept of making a collaborative advent calendar, with puzzles in it ! There is a lot of good ones in there, and I highly recommand everyone to check that out !

PlanCo 2 was announced and I was astonished by everything in it (the path system !). There is not ALL in it, but this is a good base, and the devs are working on it to provide good updates for the future. And for now, the direction taken is very positif !

Planet Coaster 2 (from Frontier):
I had RCT3 when I was a kid, and when PlanCo 1 was out, I really wanted to play that game (but I couldn't). When I was able to play it, I was a bit sad that some parts of RTC3 was not there. But then, ...

There is also a editor in it, and with the small tests I did, I think you can do a lot more than what the main game offers (even if I would love a way to add your own tiles, with special rules). I'm really curious of what everyone can do with it !

Trans Neuronica (from Evidently Cube):
This game is a really good take on the "Flow-like" genre, especially with the sequenced solving and boss battles. And thanks a lot for putting an accessibility option with the timer ! It was really useful for me.
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
it's really approachable ! Plus, the concept of fog puzzle is really interesting, and I would love to see this on other pencils puzzles genres.

CTC: Fog of War (from Cracking The Cryptic and Sandra & Nala):
This one is not really a video game, but, technically act like one. There is a great story, puzzles that you have to interact with, and even if you have to know a bit of the basics in variants sudoku, ...
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
The hints really helped me, and I definitely used other hints online to help me 100% it, but it was a really good idea ! I also really liked the screen clues for meta puzzles, and that you don't need to solve everything to get them. Really inspiring !
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Can of Wormholes (from @muntedfinger.bsky.social):
So, I wanted to play this just because I was curious about his hint system. But then, even if it's a sokoban-like (which is not my forte), I was really impressed by how fluid it was to go to the next levels !
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
The ambience is really there, even if we can accidentally skip some cutscene, which give a little boost in the pacing, and although the game feels short, I think it was the right length for it. A really refreshing experience !
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
CrossRoad OS (from Daisy Games):
I really loved this game for a lot of reasons ! First, it's very juicy, so much that you can feel stuff through the mouse. The puzzles concept are really cool, I have never seen something like that before ! (with the cursor physics and all)
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
The style and the gameplay for each of them are really unique, reinforced by the different stories they told. Personally, I really liked "Dungeon and Diagrams", "Steed Force Hobby Studio" for the playground, and "X'BPGH" that was really interesting !
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Last Call BBS (from Zachtronics):
I really liked that concept of mixing multiple games inside a game, with lore to tie everything up ! And it work better when the games themself could be small stand alone games (kinda like CosmOS 9).
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Thankfully, the game is still awesome and available in solo ! And the community has created a mod to make improvements and fixes on it, which I highly recommend you to play with ! It's on the non-official Discord Server, and I'm hopeful for after.
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Islands of Insight (from Lunarch Studios):
This game was a good attempt on mixing Puzzle/MMO, but it got a bad start with not enough people and some missing ideas to merge it all together (coop/versus puzzles, hint system to find puzzles like the Krapht parser).
January 7, 2025 at 11:01 PM
