@karanslade.bsky.social You were quoted by the Rev. Dr. Jennifer Woodruff Tate at my ordination to the diaconate Saturday as a reminder that we are to "preach the ding-dang Gospel". ❤️

The human tragedy of the war is terrible, but I think it is also important to remember how the war is affecting animal life, too. This is absolutely heartbreaking.

St. Basil the Great (4th century), in a sermon on debt and lending: "Tell me, do you really seek riches and financial gain from the destitute? If this person had the resources to make you even wealthier, why did he come begging to your door? He came seeking an ally, but found an enemy."

“I was hungry” and you cut SNAP.

“I was thirsty” and you cut funding to ensure clean water.

“I was sick” and you cut medicaid.

“I was a stranger” and you deported me.

“I was in prison” and you just left me there to rot.

“Whatever you do to the least of these, you do unto me.”-Jesus

While I appreciate "congratulations", I would appreciate your prayers that I grow into the ministry to which I am being called and ordained even more. I also ask the same prayers for Melanie McDaniel Yankey, Anna Erickson Baumann, and all those in lay or ordained ministries in the church.

Out of curiosity, I searched the Defense Department website (defense.gov) for "Medal of Honor Monday" and checked various links to the articles from the series. So far I have only been able to find the article about Maj. Gen Charles Calvin Rogers has been taken down. I did not find any others.

If it weren't clear already, the current administration's anti-DEI initiatives are really blatant racism, sexual, heterosexism, and transphobia. Here is some further evidence. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

I am watching a Fr. Dowling mystery and feel a fond nostalgia for the days of innocence when I was so enamored with being Roman Catholic. Wise priests, strong nuns, and beautiful liturgy. I miss that innocence.

Final straw @washingtonpost.com . I have a paid subscription through December, but I have cancelled my subscription & will not be renewing it. For WaPo to silence dissenting opinions that don't parrot libertarian talking points demonstrates a bias that will influence what used to be great reporting.
