Thanks to all of the NIHers and their friends who reached out to me. I am still here (DM me or Signal jeremymberg.78)

I still have a very incomplete picture but based on what I have been told, the damage to NIH and to many wonderful people who work(ed) there is/was impossible for me to imagine

No one did more to pave the road to Trump than Mitch McConnell. No one did more to help Trump avoid consequences for his illegal actions than Mitch McConnell. Mitch McConnell doesn't get to cast meaningless no votes now and hold himself up as some kind of conscientious objector. This is his legacy.

Murkowski: "he doesn’t have the burdens of leadership"

Too fucking true.
Ah, the millennial experience of “every time you get some measure of financial and career stability, the world decides to do something extraordinarily stupid again”

Called my reps this morning. The staffer at @pocan.house.gov’s office was incredibly graceful and I wish them a very good day. I was nervous and emotional and appreciate them hearing me out.

It is simply not enough for universities to say, “Our grants & research offices are looking into how research will be affected by the latest directive.”

University leaders must actively and very publicly make the case for the kind of work many of us do. The silence on this front is deafening.

The confirmation hearings for Robert Kennedy Jr., Kash Patel, and Tulsi Gabbard are set to start this week. We could also see a final vote on Russell Vought’s nomination for OMB director. We’ve made it easy for you to contact your senators and tell them to vote NO: nixthenoms.com?source=bluesky

And the funding announcement for diversity supplements now has been updated to expire today. Supplements are so important to the careers of junior scientists. This is crushing for post docs and early career faculty

I just deactivated my Twitter account and cancelled my Amazon Prime subscription. I want nothing to do with billionaires if I can help it.
