~45% of US corn production is now used to make ethanol, mostly for mixing into gasoline.
That's ~13% of all US crop land already used for energy production.
Using some of the same land for solar panels would capture 50-100 times more energy per acre.

I like a blank canvas but I think new #QGIS users would really appreciate a basemap. It could be a pop up that says would you like us to add OSM basemap? Always, Never, Ask. The only problem I see is that we would still want the next layer that was added to be set the projects location and CRS.
