There is not a significant body of literature that proves humans are naturally greedy and not cooperative. Many prove it’s the opposite or that these traits are the result of societal influence or being deprived of basic needs
Capitalism embraces human nature. Socialism is idealistic.
I consider myself something of a socialist, but I’m not going to pretend that it doesn’t work because of capitalism. It doesn’t work because humans seek power and dominion over each other.

Every time I try to think “why did this or that socialist project fail” the answer is usually something capitalist have done or do all the time and survive. So it feels like an insufficient answer. Capitalists are more powerful and better at centralizing power and deploying it without mercy.

Just yesterday I was thinking about how, when social media platforms rolled out algorithms, everyone was like “we don’t want that.” And they were like “no no, trust us, the data says you do; it’ll be great.” Now not only are the algorithms not great, they sucked the life out of everything

"Abolish ICE" and "defund the police" are both reasonable and correct on the merits but were absolutely neutered by centrists smearing them as radical activist overreach.
