I’m not sure this is entirely accurate.There is also a healthy tradition of encouragement to achieve a better life for yourself by using your talents to the full Samuel Smiles “Self Help” was an early version of this.
Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

George Osborne appears to have little education for a job in finance. He studied history at university somewhere in Oxford, never seems to have a “proper” job anywhere.Strangely enough never worked in the whips office either.

In my last three years in Parliament I called for much more robust action on Russian influence in Parliament & on political parties & their influence on funding of election campaigns.MI5 informed me that the high profile Russians in London “had not broken any laws”

17 November 1934 | A German Jewish boy, Gert Loewenstein, was born in Aken. He emigrated to the Netherlands.

He was deported from Westerbork to #Theresienstadt ghetto in January 1944 and on 16 May 1944 deported to #Auschwitz. He was murdered after the selection in a gas chamber.
