it's 9/11 stuff, the political society of the united states just love 9/11 so much and every cultural artifact that it wrought, it's like school shootings but you can point fingers at people!
These people just hate anyone that goofs on them because they have zero sense of humor and you will never win with them. They hate us and there is nothing you can say to placate them.

5% might be unfair, i know american christians and they are among the kindest and most decent people i have ever encountered. They have to be! living as they do in the belly of the great satan!
once you realise that maybe 5% of americans are christians in any real sense, that country becomes easier to explain.

no way of proving this, just a dumb thought, but like, if this had happened in like, June, rather than the day before September 11th, would the vibes have trended this direction

this is literally america
Welcome to Russia

Trump’s weaponized agencies are trying to eliminate free speech and punish those who use it. Universities, media, Colbert, and now Jimmy Kimmel. This is just the beginning

Shame on ABC for capitulating to thugs

i guess atheists get a point in their ledger because the last week would have seen God strike down the entire nation of America for idolatry over Charlie Kirk. Maybe He's a still smarting from the brazenness

I'm calling it the Lostprophets Labour government
They’re calling it the Puddle of Mudd Labour government
Government approval falls to its lowest level since Labour took office, with a net score of -61 (fieldwork 13-15 Sep 2025)

Approve: 11% (-1 from 6-8 Sep)
Disapprove: 72% (+3)
Net: -61 (-4)

I was curious about the “private message” release which Ovenden called “chilling”, and how a 3rd party could obtain such things legally. So I read 4 articles until I found one that was even slightly curious about that, which explained it was on an IM system provided by his employer for work purposes
In which I argue that:

a) The Paul Ovenden messages about Diane Abbott are really repugnant, and

b) We might want to be careful about deciding anything bad anyone has ever said online, however long ago, even in a private message is grounds for resignation

Who will be the next Paul Ovenden?
The messages from Starmer’s ousted aide are repugnant. But digital skeletons have become almost inevitable
