I keep up no new monthly comics anymore + am entrenched in these backlog reading orders.

I am however trying to stay current on Absolute & Ultimate universes via TPB.

Saw a post where someone suggested DC and Marvel need to do a crossover event that leads into Absolute Ultimate Amalgam. I concur.

I'm not in marketing but an angry guy shrieking "Guess what asshole...AI isn't going away so you might as well accept it!" doesn't strike me as the way you'd pitch an ostensibly useful product

Realizing as I wrap up the 6 replay that I have at this point played & completed almost all Resident Evil content at least once.

Not counting obvious multiplayer or points focused games - Survivor 2: Code Veronica, Mercenaries, Umbrella Corps, Resistance, Re: Verse.

Mission Impossible III

Awfully dark & forgettable script imo, notable as Abram’s film directorial debut

Hoffman’s a killer bad guy though(can’t believe he’s been gone almost 12 years)

More fun mid-aughts tv cameos, JJ regular Greg Grunberg & pre-Breaking Bad Aaron Paul as…Ethan’s brother in law?

Kinda feels complicated, but I guess my key to single focus & enjoyment is…take breaks.

Don’t mind tearing through half year of a comic or month of tv in a day if not back to back, 30m-ish at a time.

Games tire multiple parts on occasion, but around 2 hours, as they usually pace more akin to film.

Gaming:

Hardest to solo focus because I do really often have my fill after a “chapter” which usually seems about 45-75 minutes, but easier to push through a second and clock say 100 minutes of play over 2 hours than balance two differently paced games over the same time frame.

Sticking to movies on fully open days & mostly roulette unless I want to work through a franchise.

TV keeping to about a 1 hour limit:

Obviously hour show is 1/day.

Half hour(20m) I don’t mind 2 or 3 episodes but have to take breaks. One early-one late, or say broken up by a gaming session.

Reading:

Tried cramming 2 sessions morning/night, but concluded my ideal comfort is about two issues/chapters at a time (more page count than story progress, like 50-ish for comics, 20-30 for a novel)

But can usually dip in 2 or 3 times a day rather than binge 100 pages or 1 part each of a bunch.

Reserving the right to change my mind at any time, but easing up on my regimented restrictions, I think after almost an entire year tinkering with free time, I may have (almost) finally gotten myself down to engaging with 1 piece of media per format at a time.

Halfway point of Spider-Woman, not aware it aired just 1 year after the character debuted. Explains lack of known comic villains.

Also Sony IP sale didn’t click until you see it in text, crazy it took re-partnership with Disney and then the Spider-Verse movies to start utilizing so many characters.

Resident Evil character age updates w/spoilers as of 2026:

Leon is pushing 50 or over in Requiem depending on its timeframe (alleged 2026-2028)

Revelations 2:
Moira Burton (and 6’s Jake Muller) are about 34-35

Natalia Korda (still afaik “possessed” by Alex Wesker) is now 25.

Had time for 1 short season before Stranger Things wraps.

1979 Spider-Woman has gotta be the worst Kingpin interpretation I’ve ever seen.

Don’t dislike but not crazy engaging, it’s just Lynda Carter Wonder Woman as a cartoon with style carryover from 1967 Spidey that’s not as goofily meme-able.

Sleeping a couple nights I’m a bit more positive on Derry. Far from perfect, and debatable such spinoffs/continuations need to exist, but back half was pretty compelling.

Cool story beats and great effects & shots + more Bill Skarsgard, as long as you don’t dwell on character motivations & actions.

Most of us did not choose to write or draw or design so that we could put products on the shelf. We chose to do it because it’s a set of skills we enjoy exercising, that give us fulfillment.

It’s like asking a pro pitcher to just let a machine pitch for them. Fuck off and give me the ball.

Cool this got announced, but tragically hilarious to me that the only Mega Man games I outright love, Legends, is the last series uncollected. Likewise, they do not have an Official Works artbook yet either as all the others do.

Still dislike the never ending IP churn of stories stacked onto finite works and my own viewing contributions to their continuation + the setup for another season & tethers to other King work feel pretty sloppy

But the back half of Welcome to Derry was much more compelling overall than the first.

"look we're not using AI in the final product we're just using it to speed up the conceptual stage" is what a lot of dopes affecting an enlightened middle position keep saying. I truly do not get that one. You hate imagining stuff? You don't like thinking and conceptualizing? Get a grip
