signal group chats already support 1000 people, i wonder how hard it would be to staple together a few into a discord server with channels

seeing like a state.epub
Between that and the fact that many of these examples have been explicitly post-trained away, we don’t see so many of these anymore. But they still happen because, IMO, just saying random stuff on autopilot is THE defining feature of LLMs.

the first time this reached me was as sincere, only later was it pointed out as clearly ai.
I feel like my previously fairly well curated social media diet is starting to fail me, and I don't know how to navigate that now?

re-read Simon's The Architecture of Complexity and unless I'm blind like a bat, he just never gives any consideration to the notion that something might be an element in multiple systems / hierarchies?

🎉BLINDSIGHT MENTIONED🎉
Blindsight influenced a lot of how I think about LLMs. But LLMs are like if the Scramblers didn’t even care about surviving. In fact I think that the Scramblers would seek to destroy ChatGPT for emitting too much random slop.
competitive advantage for the LLM era: went insane reading Blindsight a decade ago; confronted the fact that much of what we value as intelligence can be decomposed into component submodules; accepted that sentience/consciousness was not a precondition of effectiveness wrt many cognitive tasks, etc

And what awaits these clients in Texas? Unspeakably cruel and inhumane treatment.

1. Rotten food. I had a client explain she had to make a half-pint of milk and an apple last every day because the other meals consisted of spoiled or rotten food. One client wasn’t fed for >36 hours.

potentially major quibble with the VSM: Yes, the VSM itself is recursive, but that does not mean that organizations described by it are, they're probably best described as fractal?
I'm no math major though, maybe there's a better word

linkedin notification settings are so broken now that i just get e-mails that I've turned off in every available way
In completely unrelated news, the german interface of linkedin recently changed the apply button from apply (in the sense of apply to a job) to apply (in the sense of apply a tool)
I was present for the birth of the web, the explosion of personal sites, and the blogging revolution, and you know what we never had to do? Beg people to use our shit.

The US was actually created by experimental economists who wanted to prove whether or not you can have dutch disease from a sector that doesnt make any money. The results, if it's possible, will be incredibly useful in separating the investment and the export effects.
