I remain unclear on how the people who use services will be supported at a local level to have their voices heard both independently of the organisations which need to hear them and without the risk of distortion by party politics.

The assumption made in this article is that “friends & family” are stepping in but given demographic changes, rise in isolation & that those affected are mainly over 65, are we sure that is what’s happening and ppl aren’t just being left to cope alone?

For all the blanket coverage it's getting today you wouldn't know that fishing contributes a grand total of 0.03% to the UK's economy, or that it is absolutely dwarfed by many other sectors, like the live music industry, which have been badly hit by Brexit but are rarely even mentioned

I hate the casual policy assumption that old people will learn to use IT/apps to do everything services-related - & if they don’t 🤷♂️ ah well, they’ll die soon & the rest of us have no problem.
