🚨The state of immigration detention in the UK is deteriorating fast — and it’s being hidden behind slogans like “one-in, one-out”.

What’s happening now is not isolated failure.
It’s systemic harm.

This power has been just rolled out in Manston detention centre as of this week
"It is clear that these offences will not deter people from making dangerous journeys across the Channel.Instead, our already overflowing prisons will be filled with people whose only ‘crime’ is to seek safety in the UK"
From today, new immigration offences give the UK government even more power to criminalise and imprison people crossing the Channel in dinghies. Read an overview of the changes from @vickytaylor.bsky.social ⤵️

When the world talks about migrants, it often talks about contribution+integration, but rarely about the harm done in their name
Detained people faces uncertainty, anxiety and limbo-that can destroy hope

This🎄,we share hope with people in detention-one call, one visit, one human connection at a time

How much more evidence do we need?
The recent High Court rules - Home Office failed to protect vulnerable people in detention.

If a policy causes suffering as a feature, not a flaw, it has no place in a humane society.

(1/3)The Home Secretary’s announcement yesterday denies people seeking safety the stability they need to make a life in the UK. Instead, it feeds the idea that people trying to make a life for themselves in the UK are outsiders rather than future colleagues, neighbours and friends.
