I hear you #JackSmith When defendants have their backs up against the proverbial wall, they might dispute anything & of course, lie

Unlike CBS, I believe that the media should take into account the perspectives of those advocating for free and fair elections. I started Democracy Docket to do just that -- provide you news, information and analysis of what is happening to democracy in court. Sign up now. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

They’re absolutely trying to suppress the vote. That’s been their goal for decades now. People like @marcelias.bsky.social are doing fantastic work in court to protect our freedoms.

It’s up to us to help them - we have to make these midterms too big to rig and get them some help in DC.

Europe has already stepped up quite a bit, and I wouldn’t discount the amount that Ukraine is able to do domestically. They’ve got one of more impressive drone (both air and sea) programs out there. They’ve also really ramped up their missile production capabilities.

He will be trolled RELENTLESSLY on social media and cable news, and that will drive him crazy.

The Senate will be tough. No point in sugar coating that. We should still do everything we can to take it back, but it’s important to set realistic expectations.

At his current approval ratings, the House should be an electoral bloodbath. We obviously can’t get complacent, but I feel good about it.

Not if we do our jobs, it won’t. We need to make sure people are aware of the change, and we need to urge everyone to vote as early a possible in their states.

Barring that, we’re going to have to be willing to stand in line to vote on Election Day - we have a nation to save.

I seriously doubt that. All the shady deals he’s been part of around the world? Someone definitely has dirt on him.

I’m kind of surprised we haven’t seen more leak, too.

Get out the vote efforts absolutely help. The reason a lot of people don’t vote is because it’s inconvenient - some folks simply don’t *care* about politics until it impacts them directly.

And more states won’t implement mail in b/c they want the process to be inconvenient. Low turnout helps GOP.

I don’t think so, no. I think JD Vance will be the lamest of the lame ducks.

Remember how I’ve been saying that Congress is trying to find a way to reclaim their power from the Trump White House?

Well, they’re far too scared to do that, but they would gladly bully Vance. He won’t get shit done.

We need a legitimately bipartisan / nonpartisan way to vet candidates. It would have to be transparent, though, so the candidates would have to agree to be publicly embarrassed if they were ineligible for a clearance.

I don’t know that it would work, but it’s worth a shot for sure.

I absolutely think we *should*, but I also completely understand the reason we don’t.

We trust the voters to effectively do the vetting for us, but… turns out they suck at it.

The alternative is rough though - an ACTUAL deep state group of Kingmakers who decides eligibility? Would never fly.

He’s definitely talking about the insurrection act - that was always the plan if SCOTUS didn’t let him use the Guard as his personal military force. He’s going to look for a reason to invoke the Insurrection Act and bypass their ruling.

He’ll probably try martial law before he’s done. Won’t work.

This Jack Smith deposition makes one thing abundantly clear:

If Donald Trump wasn’t re-elected, he’d be spending the rest of his life in prison.

And he should be.

2025 was a year where many of our worst fears came to pass.

We watched a madman get back into the White House, who let billionaires hijack our federal government, slash our benefits to fund their government handouts & tax cuts, while stealing our data to feed their Orwellian surveillance systems
