Sword of the Voivode released 10/19/2024
Last Wolves of Paris out 10/26/25

I'm T.G. Joye, trans man Fantasy author. My books are:

Sword of the Voivode. A High Fantasy about a trans man saving his estranged family from a former friend turned abuser.

Last Wolves of Paris: Historic Urban Fantasy where a transmasc werewolf teams up with a vampire to solve murders.
Two side characters- Octavius and Claudia. Octavius was in no position to pursue her the first time he saw her, but her return in Armor of the Saints gives him a second chance... if things would stop shifting long enough for them to talk! LOL

Choosing kindness and healthy masculenity are core features of my work, so people being kind and/or choosing kindness features heavily in all my work.

I didn't realize I'd given Daumantas my autism until my editor asked about it😅

If you want to know why I’ve been fighting so hard to get people to buy Opus, to read it, to review it, and even to write it in for the Locus Awards, this is a big reason why
Lucy’s character in Opus was written after a late night talk with @eveyjacob.bsky.social where she challenged me to write a character that was cathartic and what I wanted to see in someone I loved. What I have told almost no one is that I wrote Lucy as a version of me I could love. Before I was out.

Laurent/Yvain is learning the hard way that the ends don't justify the means in Armor of the Saints. Tymor Valentin is also learning that earning forgivness takes more than saying 'i'm sorry'.
Who’s a character in your book/wip that finally manages to get their comeuppance? #WritingPrompt

Armor of the Saints is partly about Daumantas coming to realize how extensive his found family is. Philly by Night showcases Rudolph's found family and how they work to support one another (and save the city from an eldritch being who wants to destroy it and the world.)

There will be more info about #WSPit dropping this week!

I'm working on a couple different things for this year.

But, the biggest thing, it's happening & is open to any stage of writing from WIP to published. It's to celebrate our books & pitch what we've been sharing from all year.

#WIPSnips
Hey, #WIPSnips, mark your calendar!

#WSPit returns February 25th, 2026

This is an Author Hype Event

WIPSnips is already great with hype, but this gives you a chance to pitch your work as a whole, published work included.

Rudloph (Radu Corvinus Aegyptus) has a friendly murder of crows that live near his house. He can talk to corvids thanks to an ancestor, and ravens helped raise him when his family abandoned him in the forest as a child.
Are there any important animal companions in your book/wip? what are they and what do they mean to your characters? #WritingPrompt

Isaiah (MC of THE COME BACK KIDS, queer Appalachian cosmic horror) is grey-aromantic, though not conscious of it. He kinda-sorta likes the idea of a relationship but has no real drive to pursue one. There's a romance thread to his story, but that surprises him more than anyone. #QueerPrompts
#QueerPrompts February 15: Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week Begins: How much of a role does romance play in your story?

There's usually some romance happening, but it's usually a side plot or minor plot point. Rudolph has a second chance romance sub plot in Philly by Night. Daumantas and Cyril are already an established couple in Armor of the Saints.

I walked through the curtains and into a room hazy with cigarette smoke. It was so thick I gagged for a moment. Smoking was one of the few modern vices I’d never understood.

It's really simple for me: Trad-publishing offers almost no benefit by comparison to self-pub NOW. Unless you're already a marquee name, you don't get help. With anything. At all. So I self-pub so I 1) control my content, 2) own my content, 3) don't need to worry about arbitrary gatekeeping. (1/3)
Do you think there are more pros than cons when self-publishing? I can’t get past the marketing and the worry that the story is flawed #writingq #WritingCommunity

Yes it’s Valentine’s Day. But it’s also the chosen birthday of Frederick Douglass who was born in 1818 on a plantation in Talbot County, Maryland. He escaped from slavery & rose to become the most eloquent and forceful voice for the abolition of slavery & for Black voting rights in the U.S.

“I have a plan, but you won’t like it.”
‘No.” I knew what she meant, and I didn’t want to resort on calling on an old flame to save our skins. “There has to be another way.”
